What It Is
An adapter box that accepts either an M.2 SATA (NGFF) or an mSATA SSD and presents it as a standard 2.5-inch SATA III drive, so a spare small-form SSD can be used in a laptop bay, desktop or external enclosure.

Item packaged well in bubble wrap envelope. Overall a high quality, precision design (choose the txb048-1 model) delivered by the mayaug m store. The circuit board has the 5v -> 3.3v voltage converter to supply the necessary 3.3v for both msata and m.2 ngff drives, so it would still work if your sata power plug lacks the orange wire, which unfortunately is quite common nowadays. There are 4 mounting screw holes on the sides of the enclosure that is not shown on the product photos. I am very glad they exist there because my computer case cannot mount the 2.5″ drive on the bottom side. One minor negative about the product: the pcb is so thin it feels fragile, so handle it with great care (i.e. Don’t overtighten screws, etc.)

It worked perfectly and on the first try! I liked the plastic box that tightly closes the M2 card and makes it invisible and protected inside. The kit needs to be assembled with all the necessary screws, practically ready to use. I only had to find a tighter data cable because the standard one with the clip didn’t fit, but it’s just a small hiccup easily resolved!
