Getting the length right

Junior rackets are sized by length rather than by age. Stand your child upright, racket held at their side with the head pointing down: the top of the frame should sit just clear of the floor, with no reaching and no stooping. If the head touches the ground, the racket is still too long – and since 17 inches is the shortest standard size, that usually means waiting a season rather than sizing down.
