Great router, arrived in 4 days. Highly customizable, within minutes have configured dual wifi networks, one for always on vpn to avoid ads and geolocation blocking on streaming service and one without vpn. Wish i’d bought it sooner, instantly more customizable, accessible and intuitive than the isp router i settled for
My one critique is that the uk plug has the pins the wrong way round and can only be attached in this way, meaning if you have a dual lane extension lead like the one i use, the plug takes 2 spaces

Didn’t take any pics coz i was too busy getting it out the box and connected. super fast delivery. like, 2 days uk. setup on proton vpn was successful but i’m switching to surfshark. if on iphone you need to turn some crap off to get the vpn to pick you up. updated, had issues so rolled back. but think that vpn issue was more ios related than firmware. great device though. very fast wifi and very secure too. not impervious because it’s inherent with the technology but it’s as secure as anything can be.

Configured in double nat cascaded to the carrier’s modem and optimized for gaming. Ping dropped from 20 to 6ms in-game with significantly improved bufferbloat benchmarks, thanks to sqm with cake/fq_codel algorithm — a traffic shaping system that reduces latency caused by bandwidth saturation. Key step: disable network acceleration (incompatible with sqm) and focus on egress shaping.
Firmware is customized openwrt, also flashable to vanilla — far more flexible than any standard consumer router. The gl.inet interface is intuitive and gets you to a gaming-ready setup in a few steps, with luci available for deeper configuration.
Not pure plug-and-play: basic familiarity with qos, nat and shaping helps — but plenty of guides are available online, and the results more than justify the effort.

Better than Flint 3. I get 2.5 Gbps for download and upload, whereas with Flint 3 I get 1 Gbps for download and 2.5 for upload.

It was on sale at a bargain price and I didn’t believe it was genuine. I fiddled with it a bit via SSH with AdGuard and CAKE: the Filogic 830 performs well and everything runs smoothly. The reception also amazed me, because it covers 180 square meters across two floors, and where I used to have 30% of the bandwidth, now I get 70-80% with a low and stable ping.
The hardware acceleration is noticeable, with no slowdowns even under full load. Physically, it is solid and does not heat up. As a flaw, I would say that running CAKE on the stock firmware (based on OpenWrt 21) is a nightmare. For now, I’m not installing the Vanilla version because I need stability for those working at home, but in the future I might get a second one to set up a mesh network and do some tests. I don’t use a VPN, so I can’t comment on that, but otherwise it’s a BEST BUY.
A compliment also to the seller, who was super efficient; he shipped the item shortly after the purchase and it arrived in 3 business days.

A great router, managed to get one on sale and its far better than my old router (telstra smart gen 2). Took a while (10-15mins) to connect to fttp but once connected i was getting far better speeds and greater coverage than previously. Having the ability to install apps (eg. Ad-blocking) within the router is a great bonus, and while there are all of options to use vpn etc through openwrt, you can leave it all as default and it just works.

If you need full tunnel wireguard vpn it can give you 900 mb/s for whole house easy.

Nice equipment for reasonable money – especially with Open WRT, which installs without unnecessary combinations. With a slight increase in limits, very good range, easily covers a 300-meter house with a 15-acre yard.

Stable router. Downloaded latest non beta fw. Running fine with tor and ad blocker enabled. Yet to try vpn. At distances across my home ensures i can still get up to 60-100% of my 500mps connection whereas at the same distance my sky max would only give 20%. Still using the sky on the wan connection and dhcp. May try the flint 2 alone at some point. A better buy than the flint 3 unless you have many wifi 7 clients.

I hesitated for a long time before ordering this router and i certainly do not regret it. So far, it is probably the only electronics that has met my expectations. Openwrt original installed without problems, not the version from glinet. It works as it should and i hope it will for a long time. I definitely recommend buying, fast delivery and high quality.

Best possible router at home, a rock, I have 4 active VPNs with filters for domains, IPs, and clients, about 40 connected devices, everything perfect. It’s obviously OpenWRT, but the GUI of gli.inet is excellent and very simple. Space available to install other packages, I have also installed openwrt packages not supported by gl.inet directly, such as cloudflared. Wifi that finally covers the entire house, about 150 square meters, without any problem. Before, I had a Fritz access point that I turned off because it was useless. Obviously also ethernet perfect, no problem. great purchase and great product

Great router, nice ui, awesome features, full openwrt support. There are few things that i am not in favour of: no power button and super short adapter cable. The leds on top is useless, people who buy this are unlikely to have it in their desk, with high or ceiling mount, you won’t see the leds. This is a quality device but the housing feels/looks really cheap like tenda, some texture would go a long way.

I was considering buying this router over a year ago, but at that time it cost 800 PLN. So I bought NBG 7815 for 500 PLN and installed OpenWrt. Now I bought this for less than 400 PLN. After installing OpenWrt, it unlocks power up to 1000mW, and one unit is enough for the entire house with two floors. After setting up WLAN roaming on all three of my routers, it works great. After uploading from the manufacturer’s website in version 24, we lose the GL.iNet interface but gain a newer system with the ability to independently install an unlimited number of packages. In NBG 7815, I installed Docker and on it the Jellyfin container, and after connecting the 2TB m2 nvme SSD, we have a huge multimedia server that has been running for over a year streaming videos to various devices at home.

I have to say, everything was just perfect there’s nothing more to add.
As for the router, it’s currently the best on the market, period.
The credit, however, goes to the filogic 830 chip and the openwrt firmware: unmatched range and versatility.
